1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites place in your browser when you visit them. They remain stored on your device and are sent back to the server when you revisit the same site. Cookies allow the website to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time, so you don't have to re-enter them every time you visit the site or navigate from one page to another.
In addition to traditional cookies, we use similar technologies such as browser local storage (localStorage) to store preferences more efficiently and with greater expiration control. These technologies work similarly to cookies but are only accessible from the site that creates them.
Strictly necessary cookies are always active because they are essential for the site to function. Third-party analytics and functional cookies are only activated if you give us your consent.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our site. GA4 uses three cookies (_ga, _ga_XXXXXXXX, _gid) to distinguish users, measure sessions, and analyze browsing behavior in an aggregated and anonymous way.
- IP anonymization: The IP address is anonymized before being sent to Google's servers.
- No data sale: Google Analytics does not sell or share data with third parties for their own commercial purposes.
- Opt-out available: You can reject GA4 cookies in the preferences panel or by installing Google's official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Internal first-party metrics
In addition to GA4, Startit Services uses a proprietary traffic metrics system that stores data exclusively on our servers. This system uses browser local storage (localStorage) to generate an anonymous session identifier (_startit_sid) with a 30-minute TTL. This identifier never leaves our servers and is not linked to any personal data.
