Sobre el libro About the book

¿De qué trata? What is it about?

From Debt to Capital is not a book of generic financial advice. It is a field guide for the Latino business owner who has been generating income for years, but feels money evaporates without a trace at the end of each month. Written for those who work 12-hour days, support families and employees, yet still feel like they're running on a treadmill going nowhere.

The book starts from an uncomfortable but liberating premise: most Latino small business owners don't have an income problem — they have a financial architecture problem. They earn enough, but money flows in the wrong places. Consumer debt mixes with business debt, personal expenses contaminate margins, and there's no system to separate, organize, and multiply what's already coming in.

Through its chapters, the book guides you through a four-phase process: Diagnosis, where you learn to see your real financial situation without self-deception; Separation, where you build the minimum architecture to stop your business and personal life from financing each other; Reduction, where you apply the debt elimination method that works for entrepreneurs with irregular cash flow; and Construction, where you begin converting surplus into real assets, not more consumption.

This is not a book for millionaires or Wall Street aspirants. It's for the electrician with three employees who owes more than he invoices. For the stylist with two locations living paycheck to paycheck. For the restaurateur with loyal customers but maxed-out cards. For any Latinx who built a business from scratch and deserves that business to finally work for them.

From Debt to Capital comes paired with Capital Path, the mobile app that lets you carry the book's method live, with projections, alerts, and week-by-week tracking. Because a book without a tool is just inspiration — and inspiration without a system changes nothing.

Capital Path

Because inspiration without a system changes nothing. The book gives you the method — Capital Path gives you the tool to run it in your business, week by week, with real data and automatic alerts when something drifts off track.

Most finance books end up in a drawer because knowledge without a tool never becomes habit. Capital Path closes that gap: every phase of the method has its digital counterpart — financial diagnosis, account separation, debt tracking and asset building — so learning turns into a weekly routine.

You don't need to be a finance expert. You need a system that works with you while you focus on growing your business.

Hector Fuentes Blanco is the founder and CEO of Startit Services LLC, a premium software studio specializing in building high-impact digital products for Latino entrepreneurs in the North American market. With over a decade of experience in the U.S. entrepreneurial ecosystem, Hector has led the development of multiple SaaS products from scratch — including SIM, Capital Path, and the Startit website platform.

Before founding Startit, Hector experienced firsthand the debt cycles that trap so many Latino small business owners in the United States. Without access to financial education tailored to business realities, he made the mistakes most founders make: mixing personal and business finances, making decisions by intuition rather than data, and watching monthly surpluses evaporate without converting into assets.

Over time, he developed his own system — methodical, adapted to the reality of irregular cash flow and the particularities of the Hispanic market in the U.S. — that allowed him not only to eliminate debt, but to build a solid financial foundation from which to scale his businesses.

"De Deuda a Capital" (From Debt to Capital) is the codification of that system: not a theory book, but a practical guide born from the direct experience of building and scaling businesses in the North American market. Capital Path, the book's companion app, is living proof that the method works.
